Shy Dog Class

This 8-week course is designed for dogs that are fearful or shy of people, other dogs, or objects. In these sessions, we use desensitizing and counter conditioning techniques while working on redirection and proactive behavior. The course is based on "TLC":

Identifying and understanding the TRIGGERS that cause the fear or reaction
Improving your LEADERSHIP skills to redirect and manage your dog’s behavior when exposed to triggers and to encourage and reinforce good behavior with clicker training and reward-based techniques
Using CALMING techniques such as essential oils, massage, calming signals

We limit the number of dogs in this course, and we use barriers between the dogs. We customize each course based on the issues you and your dog face. Current and former students of this class are invited to join a Yahoo group developed specifically to continue ongoing discussion regarding their dogs' issues.

The cost for the course is $180 ($190 after July 10th). Because the class size is limited, we require payment prior to the start date. Children under 12 are not permitted in the class.

Please do not bring your dog to the first class.
